Jan Soochna Portal-2019: What is it? It is the first-ever public information portal launched in Rajasthan. Aim:  To provide information about government authorities and departments suo motu to the public in the true spirit of the Right To Information Act. Significance: The portal would ensure compliance with Section 4(2) of the RTI Act mandating the public authorities to disclose information in the public domain, so that the people need not file applications under the law to obtain information

DELHI DECLARATION - UNCCD COP14:- The 14th Conference of Parties (COP14) to United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) concluded in Greater Noida with member countries adopting the Delhi Declaration. COP 14 to UNCCD ended with a commitment to achieve Land Degradation Neutrality (LDN) by 2030. Such neutrality is defined by the UN as ensuring that enough land is available across the world to ensure a sustainable future. The Delhi Declaration is a statement of global action by each country on how to achieve Land Degradation Neutrality. Delhi Declaration COP 14: Key Points :-  1. Land Degradation Neutrality(LDN) Land Degradation Neutrality (LDN) has been defined by the Parties to the Convention as: A state whereby the amount and quality of land resources, necessary to support ecosystem functions and services and enhance food security, remains stable or increases within specified temporal and spatial scales and ecosystems. LDN represents a paradigm shift in land management policies and practices. It is a unique approach that counterbalances the expected loss of productive land with the recovery of degraded areas Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) target 15.3 states: “By 2030, combat desertification, restore degraded land and soil, including land affected by desertification, drought and floods, and strive to achieve a land degradation-neutral world.”

India’s Longest Electrified Tunnel:- South Central Railway (SCR), one of the 18 zones of Indian Railways has commissioned the longest electrified tunnel in Indian Railways. It is situated between Cherlopalli and Rapuru Railway stations in Nellore district, Andhra Pradesh. It will be helpful for decongesting traffic on Vijayawada-Gudur main line. It is part of 113-km new railway line completed recently between Obulavaripalli– Venkatachalam – Krishnapatnam Port.  The tunnel construction was completed in a record time of 43 months. The electrified tunnel is an engineering marvel which is constructed in a horseshoe design.  It is constructed on New Australian Tunnelling Method, at a cost of ₹460 crore. This new line would facilitate direct and viable connectivity between South Coast and West Coast Railway. It will aslo improve freight revenue of zone.
