Mahabalipuram: Mahabalipuram, also called as Mamallapuram, is a coastal town along the shores of the Bay of Bengal in Tamil Nadu. The town is home to several beaches and stone temples, sculptures and monoliths. The Group of Monuments at Mahabalipuram were declared as UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1984. The sites are all maintained by the Archaeological Society of India (ASI). Most of the temples and sculptures at the town were carved by sculptors during the Pallava era under the reign of Narasimhavarman and his successor, Rajasimhavarman following his death. Despite being the home to scores of sculptures and temples, only a few monuments can be visited by tourists since most of the structures are believed to be submerged under water, either due to repeated floods during or rising sea levels. Mahabalipuram, or Mamallapuram also had ancient links with Buddhism and China through the maritime outreach of the Pallava dynasty.

It is one of the most common communicable disease in India, however, the disease is curable and preventable. The transmission of the disease is further aggravated by unhygienic, crowded living conditions. About one-quarter of the world's population has latent TB, which means people have been infected by TB bacteria but are not (yet) ill with the disease and cannot transmit it. Tuberculosis burden in India Most Indians carry the bacterium and the infection is aggravated when their immunity levels are low, like when they are malnourished or suffering from conditions like AIDS. India also has more than a million “missing” cases every year that are not notified. Reasons for high burden Improper diagnosis Most such cases remain either undiagnosed or unaccountable and inadequately diagnosed, and treated in the private sector. Disease resistance Many of thes...
